Horticulture Terrariums

So without thinking I got just any old waterproof sealant, but after further research I read this probably isn’t safe for animals. I was building a terrarium for my stick bugs, but would it still be safe if I washed it or waited a while longer for the smell to go away?

It’s 100% silicone so once it’s cured it’s completely inert. You could absolutely get away with it however the consensus seems to be that mold and mildew inhibitors are toxic if consumed by fauna. I highly doubt your stick insects are going to consume the silicone wilfully but nonetheless the inherent risk is always prevalent.
