  1. That grass looks like some grass i easily grew from seed. Savannah grass, people use it for cut flowers too. I love it so much. Doesnt need drip at all.

  2. Wow that looks soooo pretty! It's very interesting watching you choose all these different mixtures of plants for each month of the year. I've never seen or heard of crystal grass before and it's gorgeous!

  3. Ooooo, what fun plants you found!! You have such a fun garden, I love it! And it’s coming along so well!! I’m addicted to coneflower and daisies in my zone 5a garden. There are just so many different colors and heights available that I can’t pick just one, and the blooms last so long 😊❤️ I do the same thing that you do, and try to pick up a few things every month or two so something is always blooming 😁

  4. Pineapple Guavas (feijoas) are super dense shrubby trees in New Zealand! I wonder if its the weather difference that makes them sparse. What a fun video ❤

  5. Try Trees Outlet in South Sac/ Elk Grove off of Gerber road, truly AMAZING selection of healthy trees, larger than you buy at Green Acres and for quite a bit less. Also owned by the sweetest most helpful husband and wife. I plan on going back now that it's cooler for my eastern redbuds ($125!) and at least 12 ft tall. They have every kind of redbud you could want. Got by Himalayan birch trees 12-15 ft tall for $85 each a few months ago and they're doing amazing. Huge selection of Japanese maples that I can't stop thinking about… I digress. Prices, size, and selection they are my go to.

  6. Janey and Jason, That pink crystal grass and the cone flowers look AH-mazing together in that spot!!! 🤩
You have inspired me to get something that’s blooming in the ground on a monthly basis (we’ll see how I do – I moved to an Australian equivalent to zone 10b/11, so there are some things that don’t like our humid hot summers. Finding things that bloom is a challenge, as I grew up in zone 9b, and prefer more of the types of plant that grew there, as opposed to just lots of green/variegated leaves!).

  7. That July blooming corner is so pretty! I’m very glad your families and Robbie and Brent are safe! 🇨🇦❤️🌸

  8. You should see my pineapple guava 😅 it was in shrub form but I didn't keep up with its trimming, now it's a beast! Very full and dense

  9. Hello Janey and Jason. Crystal grass, I have never seen it before and I love it! So glad that you grabbed more, you would have regretted not getting it once you got home. I can’t wait for you guys to get all of the trees at the property, the garden it’s going to look so different with the larger trees to provide the area with more shade and vertical interest 😊

  10. Looks beautiful in that corner❣️ Have you thought about joining the National Arbor Society for your trees? They have really great prices on their trees. I know they are not huge trees but they can be fill in trees also! Just a thought😊

  11. So many better trees than Crepe Myrtles 😭 they are everywhere here where I live and they get so ugly when not maintained.

  12. Believe me, guava trees are NOT sparse! They have lovely flowers and delicious fruit. They are considered to be evergreen but just know that they constantly drop leaves. I love our guava tree. The blue green color sets it apart and adds interest in the garden as well. Hummingbirds love this tree!

  13. Oh my lantana! That is gorgeous in the parking lot! I planted lantana this year and I’ve had literally 3 blooms on it. I think it’s miserably hot for me here (probably still cold for you) and apparently it’s still to cold for the lantana which makes me sad because I love lantana. I will most likely continue to try and plant it every year but I know deep down it will never work lol

  14. Check out the reblooming crape myrtle called Enduring Summer -red. It is a gorgeous one to have to enjoy the flowers longer and a white Pine called Blue Angel. Great texture for the garden.

  15. Your July Bloom Garden looks fantastic. Loving on the pink color family. My best to you and your fellow Cali neighbors. The fires are just terrible. 💓

  16. Janie your July corner is my favorite. Beautiful. I love the pink flowers. Great picks and keep taking Jason with you to pick plants and flowers. ❤

  17. Nothing says "California" like an oak tree. I am surprised you did not consider getting one, especially if you want shade. Love the pink coneflower/crystal grass combo!

  18. Jacaranda trees are soo beautiful. We have them everywhere in Adelaide in South Australia and the blooms are so pretty.

  19. I'm in Zone 9b and have several japanese maples and they get a lot of sun and have thrived. The one in our backyard gets the hot afternoon heat and it's doing great. I think they are heartier than people give them credit for.

  20. I love every month, but the July planting plants might be my favorite so far! Looks so beautiful especially with black background.
