Do I need to cut this cutting?

I have had this cutting and water for the past month or so. All it has grown are these weird black nubs. It has continued to put out new leaves and new growth, however, has not established any roots. I even added a pothos cutting to see if this would help. Do I need to cut the bottom of this cutting , as I realize I might have cut exactly at the node? Any other advice?

I would be patient with the cutting and continue having it in water. It will grow thin, threadlike roots from the black nubs. Their roots just look super different from a pothos or some other plants with thick roots.

What kind of plant is this? Do those little spots wipe off?

Forgive me. I had not swiped over to the next picture. That plant is absolutely beautiful and looks like a perfectly healthy begonia cutting. That is weird that it’s not shooting off roots because usually begonia cuttings start shooting off Roots just in a couple of weeks. I’m going to ask you again will those spots rub off? If not I wouldn’t worry about it but me personally I would cut off just a little bit of the bottom to give the plant a new start to see if Roots will come from a new Fresh cutting. That’s just my opinion. But that is absolutely beautiful.

  4. theres already a few tiny roots from some of the spots! that is how it works c:
