Half a birch came down in a storm and I'm planning what to do next.
The remaining trunk is leaning pretty severely and probably at half thickness at the wound.
I'm thinking leaving the remaining trunk standing would be dangerous as autumn and winter storms come in. The tree is maybe 15m from a cabin, so far enough away it probably won't do damage, but easily close enough to be a danger to people/pets.
Is it possible to save this tree and make it safe?
