Hey folks this is a 3 or 4 year old maple that fell into my garden and has followed me around.
Going into next spring, I'd like to repot. I'm weighing my options and wondering what I can take off. I even considered ground planting for a year to try and thicken the base. At the same time, I'm ok with maybe putting in a bonsai pot (if I can cut back enough, for a forced perspective) and letting it thicken with time. I guess I'm leaning to just completely topping it once leaves drop this fall and repot going into the spring. Might not be the best option, but pretty confident this guy will be fine. I would hate to kill it though.
