SOS monstera deliciosa prop!

hi everyone! i’m sort of new to this, only have successfully propagated a pothos from water to soil. recently, i acquired some monstera deliciosa cuttings, and they seemed to be fine. however, a few of the roots have started growing tiny secondary roots but one of the stems lengths seems to be rotting, turning black and smells fishy. i’m not sure how much lighting these require in water or what’s going wrong! i’ve had it for a few weeks, but today it’s looking a bit shriveled and sad too. please help me save her i’ve always wanted a swiss cheese!

It looks like a monstera adansonii, i dont see any rotting spot, but maybe lowering the water level, changing it everyday and as much indirect sun it can get.
