What's this plant

Is this another type of crabapple?

I found this tree growing on our property. It's fruit that looks like an apple but is the size of a cherry. We are in zone 5b. We have a crabapple tree on the property but those are all green apples and this is red. The fruit also seems so much smaller than what ive known as a crabapple. Is it just another type of crabapple? I was going to eat one just to see what it tasted like but figured I should get some advice before I do. The chickens eat them no problem. Thanks in advance for the advice!

It’s crabapple it seems. You can tell by the bottom. Cherries are smooth while apples have a “button”.
