A big branch heavy with lemons split from the windstorms we were having.
I went to saw it off but stupidly didn’t trim it first so it snapped off damaging the main branch.
Can the remaining branch survive this damage? I am hesitant to cut it too far back after losing so much in one go already.
I’d plan to remove the rest of the branch before the next season next year

I would cut it back. Damage like that can be bad, inviting disease in the plant. It will throw new shoots eventually.
