Why are my mower and kids shoes turning orange/rusty after they are in the grass ? Only thing besides milorganite that I’ve used is sedgehammer for nutsedge? Any ideas

Rust fungus. It won’t kill the lawn, but it does spread. Push it out with some growth

It got so bad for me this year, it was really stressing the lawn to the point where I actually treated it with an anti-fungal. Waited about a week and then put down some nitrogen. Worked well.

Happens every year in August in my yard, I usually just wait it out month cuz it’s not really a big deal except on my shoes haha.
