I’d say it was damaged in the sheath because that plant is WAY too tied up and it’s bound too tightly.
The plant should only be bound by the stem, never by the petioles. That twine is very thin, which can also damage the plant. I use velcro since it’s wider and won’t pinch, plus it’s easier to adjust.
