So, I have this half failed Graft. I may or may not regraft it. I have acces to an opuntia to do so, my question is:
first) If i should follow through with the original graft since season is coming to an end
second) Where should I graft on a opuntia? On a botton pad or a top one? Or is it recommended to cut down all the pads but one to help the pup grow?
Ill follow up with a pic of the opuntia when I can.

If you have a lot of opuntia and just want pups I would suggest a valley graft. This is one of mine that’s just starting to pup in a very weird spot. The graft is pretty easy to do just make sure you watch out for glochids

I’ve only grafted seedlings on opuntia bc of the surface area. If you can manage to cut a rib or areole.

This won’t help you today but I use opuntia seedlings for grafting as they have much more surface area on their “trunk” as opposed to a rooted pad. Plus, I can just go to a Mexican market and grab a tuna for the seeds.
