My 2 year old passion fruit vine is flowering for the first time and I’m excited but what are the green stems in the middle of the flower? It looks creepy as hell.
Also any advice to support my vine through its first season? It’s the only vine of the two I planted to actually grow

Looks normal to me? I think the green parts are called stigma
Yeah passion fruit flowers look like aliens.
Passionfruit are pretty hungry and thirsty so keep up the water and fertiliser. I like to use a mixture of a slow release fert and then applications of a liquid fert which is generally quicker acting. A nice layer of mulch to protect their shallow roots in summer is a good idea too 🙂
