  1. If I'm planning to plant some young shrubs this late summer/early fall, should I still cut them back? If so, when? Before first frost? I'm in north GA if that matters

  2. Another great garden visit!!! Thank you Allyson and Janey!!! Love the comment, that we’ve all learned from Laura!!! So true.

  3. OMG! A person who uses my "ocean sound" trick to ignore traffic noise! I thought I was the only one! Allyson is lucky to have had the chance to learn all this hands on stuff from her dad. I am afraid that I am all thumbs and clueless when it comes to building something. I love her dad's attitude about it. I always try to reuse what I have before buying. It really helps the budget. As a Christmas present, my husband built an adorable Little Library out of a birdbath base whose top was knocked off and broken by some rowdy raccoons, the wood box was made from pices of random lumber he found under the house that was going to get trashed, and my daughter painted a charming design on it, and I absolutely LOVE it! Btw, Harry is ADORABLE!🥰

  4. FABULOUS VIDEO and Tour!!! I have to watch this again and again! I'm moving to my Daughter's in Bonita, CA and the ground is all sand. I need to put down the raised beds that are in this video. There are lots of gophers. What a lush garden.. I'm going to have to work fast. Thank you for sharing…….Continued Blessings to you both…

  5. I loved this video and this gorgeous garden. That shed are what dreams are made of. Thank you for an inspiring garden tour! 😊

  6. What a gorgeous garden tour! So inspiring to see Allyson's garden, and her creative endeavors. I love seeing local gardens that can survive our heat and wind.

  7. I love everything that Allyson has created. I especially adore the inter-generational family heirlooms from plants to the wagons. Very clever chick! ❤

  8. My jaw dropped when I saw the floor in her shed!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭 her whole garden is beautiful!!! And she definitely is super resourceful! Love it!!!!

  9. hi i love black and blue salvia had it when i lived in Texas , i need it here i live less than a hour from yuba city ( willows ca -) I have been looking for it for 5 yrs. if anyone knows where i can get it please message me please

  10. i have a sunflower forest this summer — i am recuperating from foot surgery so can't get out like i want! It's kinda nice. Lots of clean up in the fall when i'll be able to but will enjoy ALL the sunflowers!!

  11. I absolutely LOVE your shed! I have several cattle panel arches, but I shaped them into Gothic arches. Gardens are never done because they evolve over time. Like you, I am doing all my own landscaping and it's a process. I found a praying mantis by my sweet potatoes and a dragon fly by my salvia. Your garden tour has been so enjoyable. Thank you for sharing.

  12. Ok. So I live in South Alabama and we have a looong growing season. I wouldn't need to break the cages down. Could I use cattle panel to replicate the same process for tomato cages?

  13. Wow oh wow! This has got to be the best garden! There is a thoughtful process to the placement of plants that I just LOVE! Thank you both!!!

  14. Love love love this garden! Tip to get rid of gophers, moles and voles…. Juicy fruit gum! Tear the gum in half with the wrapper still on and then shake them out of the package onto the ground around your plants. Kills the critters without using chemicals. Happy Growing!

  15. what a wonderful shed! Alison what kind of/where did you get the floor stencil, I love that and would do that here but I havent seen a stencil like that?

  16. It’s so cool to me to see how differently plants grow in different environments. Our neighbor has Mexican petunia in her garden and consequently, it’s traveled under her privacy fence and going crazy across our lawn area. Just have to keep it mowed down. I put some in ten years ago on the other side of our property and I have been pulling it up for about eight years. I cut back black and blue salvia almost to the ground at least three times a season because it is such a bully but I would never be without it. It’s the hummingbird favorite. Your garden is wonderful and I love your big picture philosophy. Totally am with you on that. No fear. Experiment.

  17. We've been building our own wire tomato cages here in the south for a few decades now. The design is far superior to anything the box stores offer. We have a 9-10 month growing season here so strength is required.

  18. Like how she prunes her rose of Sharon —— not tight. Branches flow. I’ve not liked it because in just about every one I have seen in yards it is pruned like a privet hedge. I may have to get one now🙄. Lovely yard!! That shed is wow!!—- along with Everything!!

  19. This is my kinda gal, and my kinda garden!
@27:24…YES! As I was say, "I consider it as the sound of an Urban Ocean," then you ladies said it…ha ha ha.
Just an idea for that amazing wall…you could espaliers some grape vines and fruit trees.☺️

  20. @38:00 I always wanted Madam Alfred Carrier and Zephirine roses so I had to order them online.
The M.A.C. rose came from Old Fashioned Roses and the two Zephirine roses came from Home Depot. It's what you gotta do these days.🤷🏻‍♀️😂

  21. What a fun tour. just so you know, you can very easily save the seeds from that black & blue salvia and easily grow tons of plants. They'll likely turn out purple…. but still very pretty. Love your channel!

  22. Beautiful garden. In N. Florida, the Mexican petunia are easy to grow. Clip off by a joint n put it in the grow n you will have a new plant.
