Rare Houseplants

Can I chop this?

Hi! Disclaimer, I bought this variegated tissue culture fully knowing it had a high chance of reverting which I’m totally cool with, that’s not the point, I just love doing TC in general lol

It’s grown several new leaves in the 5 weeks since I got it which is very exciting but it sadly it seems it’s reverted. Her lower leaves have high variegation so I’m thinking about cutting it back to the last variegated leaf to encourage more but I’m nervous since it’s still so little. Would this work on a plant this size or would I just be killing it? Like I said I do want to keep growing this one so I wouldn’t want to do it if that’s the case

Also to add! Up until this week I had basically had it in bare minimum lighting which I think is what went wrong. I finally got my stronger new lights and I know that would make a big difference in the new growth, so I could probably just wait a bit instead of risking it

It seems like a risk to cut the plant to me, but I understand wanting too. If you take less than 1/3 of the plant, it might survive.

Just did some research on this because I wasn’t sure, and the consensus to what I found is that you can propagate/chop a pup, however since they don’t have well established root systems you risk harming it greatly by cutting it back.

I think I would let it acclimate to your new better lighting, and you never know it might start churning out better leaves.
