Fiddle Leaf Fig

Will this grow if I cut it below the fork ? Where there is no leaves ?

This fiddle leaf is pretty gangly .
I would like to cut it off below the fork to get a much bushier plant , but I don't want to kill it ?
Do they tend to kick on and throw new leaves / branches from a bare trunk ?
Any help appreciated.

Yes, it will send out branches from wherever you cut it, so it’s totally up to you. It’s like trimming nails so it literally doesn’t matter where and doesn’t hurt it whatsoever. If it were me I would cut a couple inches above to fork because the more splits the better of you’re trying to create a dense canopy. Having said that, there have been times I’ve cut all the way down to the ground to create more of a bush character. Whatever floats your boat!
