Philodendron

Fungus Gnats

Looking for suggestions before I repot completely…

I repotted my Red Congo philodendron/ birkin hybrid at the end of May (pic is from right after the repot) and have been noticing fungus gnats all over it. I've been using this so far and it seems to only work for a little while and then they're back.

Do I just need to repot with new soil?

  1. Top water once with 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water to kill eggs and reduce fungus in the soil.

Place a few yellow sticky traps around the edge of the pot to capture the adults.

Bottom water going forward. If the top inch or two of the soil is dry the fungus gnats can’t lay eggs in it. I make a tea with Mosquito Bits and use that for all my plants in soil, the bacteria consumes the eggs.
