Thank you Kate, for your words about letting your garden go, while you grieved for your father. I did the opposite…..when my husband of decades died, I built a terraced container garden outside my kitchen window…I call it my grief garden and I put everybit of love I wanted to give my husband into it. Gardens can heal.

I so enjoyed the tour of Kate's gardens. I'm in my 2nd season of landscaping my retirement home. This year I started battling 1 or more gophers that devastated my back area in a matter of a couple days. I am a tea drinker and so I will be checking out your teas! Love the stone fountain in the front (I need that little floaty part). If you ever get to the Boise area, you can come enjoy my garden, which incorporates my chickens!

Oh Kate! Thank you for sharing about the loss of your father. I,too, am so glad that you skipped a season or two in your garden because you are grieving! When I lost my father and then my mother, it was HARD. But now I can see the excitement in your whole body about your dahlias and other plants. Love you girl! Thank you Kate for giving me permission for letting my garden go. I lost my husband of 17 years this past March and have been feeling guilty but immobile watching the weeds take over! Your baby garden is beautiful! Flower friends!

I actually teared up when Kate talked about that little patio in her back yard… I have one just like it and yes, it was the best we could do at the time, and now I look at it and remember my excitement as my dad and husband installed it 18 years ago. It’s not perfect, but, it has a story and I love that. ❤

Loved touring Kate's yard! So many cool aspects. It's always fun to see a transformation of a plain yard to something fantastic! I have many take away's from this video. Plant ideas, like the trailing vine, growing eucalyptus. Rosy tones. So pretty. Love the "you could be the juiciest peach, but not everybody likes peaches" So true. Love the parsley story too.
