Ginger left alone for a month and sprouted in dark cupboard. Is it viable? Should I plant it indoor (zone 6a)?

   I tried this once but I think it didn’t get enough light indoors. It’s a a tropical plant I think. I thought to myself I’d do it outdoors in summer or indoors with artificial light if I tried it again.

   Just planted one the other day in a bucket outside, gonna bring it in one it gets cold.
