Just had a patio installed in my backyard and they installed two downspouts on it. This one seems like it defeats the purpose of a downspout as it runs right next to the house, what do you guys think?
I work in foundation repair, so I want you to leave it as is! You probably would want to divert that water much further away from the house. You should go underground with the discharge until it daylights. You can diy it if you choose. Just remember water won’t go uphill.

Uuhh yeah, it’s supposed to drain *away* from the house. This is just going right down into your basement or crawlspace.

Might as well not have a gutter.
There’s a direct feed to the foundation.

Yeah dude. Get a cheap plastic extender for now, and then do the buried black pipe pop up thing when you have time.

Is this a joke?

The spout is literally touching your house, so… yeah, it’s too close
