Hi I am new to landscaping so sorry if this is a dumb question but I have this long iron rod in my front yard near my fence. It’s pretty deep down it seems like.
I am just curious what is the purpose of this rod being in the yard?
I can remove it right?

I think that’s the anchor that stops your house from floating away so probably best to leave it. 😁
It’s Temporary fence post. I would remove by digging down further.

this is called leaning iron rod.
it is designed to catch on the feet of children and trip them.
this one is properly installed: leaning towards the center of your area, and has the regulation rust on the tripping end.
Possibly a property line marker
