So I see people grow their plants in lava grind. I get the idea that not all of my plants like to grow in the lava. Am I doing something wrong, should I be more patient or are there some plants that cant grow in lava?

How long have you had it in there? Sometimes my plants take weeks to start growing roots, and then once they start they pick up speed.
