It’s a flower. Normally they come in pairs so don’t be surprised if you see another one pop up soon. I’ve had as many as 10 flowers pop up in succession.
Don’t cut them off until they’re dying and withering back. By the time you see the flower, the plant has already used as much energy as it will on producing the flower. If you cut it before it withers on its own, you risk interrupting the hormone cycle and could cause it to continue to flower until it completes the cycle. Make sure you’re fertilizing often with a high nitrogen fertilizer, especially while it’s flowering.
