On July 8, 2024, Texas was hit by Hurricane Beryl. Many areas in the Houston area received damage, including the Japanese Garden in Hermann Park. The Japanese-America Society of Houston recently put out a call for volunteers and I was one of many who showed up on a hot summer day to lend a hand.
