Garden Lovers…being inside this greenhouse made me want to cry from happiness. I am so glad I get to share this resplendent ode to gardening with you all. Not only is Eric Peterson an amazing craftsman, he is an out-of-this-world plantsman and defies the laws of nature with his collection of interesting and beautiful cacti, succulents, rare and exotic flowers, vines, and so much more.
This garden was absolutely humming with hummingbirds when we filmed it in mid September, 2024. It is in Portland, Oregon, zone 8, although many of the plants are zone 9 and up. See how he does it (yes, it requires a lot of heavy lifting…)

That’s a fantastic garden! So beautiful!
Thanks for sharing!
I don’t think Mr. Peterson knows just how talented he is to build a greenhouse like that, making so much of the structure by hand. Amazing!
I’ve heard it called the “death bloom” when the plant blooms and then dies.
I’ve seen this garden in magazines and on Instagram and love it. Thank you for the wonderful tour of the garden and the amazing greenhouse.
The curly things are so cute… ouch! 💚
I’m from Tasmania, love the glass house
Gorgeous!! This garden is a true labor of love. Thanks for sharing it.
I love knowing a lil CA Cactus garden was created in Portland! Its spectacular! I could happily live in that greenhouse. ❤
Absolutely gorgeous. So creative
Beautiful copihue
What a job bringing all those in and out!
Come I come see the garden?
Fantastic!!!
The most amazing green house I have ever seen. It’s like fairy tale house. ❤❤❤❤
This is amazing! I’m curious about several plants Eric mentioned as being zone 9 plants so he takes them in. Parts of inner Portland have been reclassified as zone 9a. I’m on the southern Oregon coast in a solid 9a, maybe 9b. I wonder if Eric would leave some of those zone 9 plants outside or is it too big a risk? The threat of ice storms are scary. Love all the hummingbird sounds.
