Too much light for my VFT?

Hi. Lux meter is showing this at 35.6KLux or (35,600 LUX). After putting this number in an online Lux to PPFD calculator, the estimated PPFD comes to 634.48 umol/s/m2.

This does not seem correct. This is only a 10W sansi bulb at 8 inches from the pot. The PPFD seems very strong to me given i only have one 10w bulb on it.

My question: Is 634.48 PPFD ok? Does this seem accurate to you guys? Do i need more or less light. Light is on for 12hrs of the day on a timer.

no it’s basically impossible to give it too much light.

these plants are used to grow under full sun, i don’t think a 10w bulb is stronger than the sun.

Also remember they need winter dormancy for a minimum of 2/3 months

Oh, I remember you 🙂 … ~600 PPFD is plenty. don’t worry about it.
