Yes, very pretty. But also expensive to maintain. Which is probably why they changed it.
I vaguely recall there was a plan to change it again & demolished that horrible concrete wall/shop, but can’t recall much else.

They did look stunning. As others have said it’s just very expensive to maintain. I’m a gardener for a local authority, I’m fairly new to it, but a chap I work with has been doing the job for 40 years and has watched our parks department shrink from over 400 staff to less than 50 now. All of the infrastructure to grow and propagate has been sold off and our budget gets decreased every year. I’ve become quite adept at building cold frames out of old pallets now though, so it’s not all negative!
