Can confirm was not a scam and the gentleman was lovely, had a discussion about his collection (see attached a few bonus pics of his collection)
Can also confirm that the small seedling was a seedling not revert for those wondering.

Sweet pickup, dude! I’d remove the baby seedling in there and put it in its own pot so it can grow faster & thicker.
Id I were you I’d remove about 10 pieces and propagate/root them in there own pots !
