Help with my odd Raphidophora Tetrasperma leaves

Hi! I’ve been searching all over and am unable to find any reason my plants are growing like this. Pictured are not sport variegation but rather signs of odd growth. Like the leaf didn’t form those areas well as it’s unfurling. The leaf is somewhat textured. It’s four plants in 1 pot growing in leca for about 6 months. The odd growth is exhibiting on 2 of the healthier plants while the smaller 2 had stunted leaf growth. The leaves won’t unfurl and dies off. Leaves close to the new growth also turns yellow and died off. I really don’t get it.

Only correlation to the leaf growing like is that maybe I went from foliage pro to the general hydroponics nutrient system. I’m still new to leca and was told that’s better for you plants in leca. I’ve switched back and rinsed my leca with plain water a couple of rounds too.

Anyone have any idea?

I think most likely thrips, altho when ive had them the damage was more yellow/brown. Leaves will come out streaked/brown or misshapen, rot in the cataphyl, and i can see tiny white specks on the leaves.
Maybe check for root rot too but you can see the older leaves seem to be ok for now. Four plants in a pot that size seems like a lot so maybe take this time to cut back to the healthier leaves and split the plant into two pots, or get a bigger pot. Tetras dont like being cut in my experience but the damaged leaves gotta go.

Light exposure? The poise of the foliage is indicative of insufficient light exposure. It should be a lot more perky if it’s getting enough light. I completely disagree about cutting the leaves. There’s no advantage to that. They can still photosynthesize light for energy just fine. If you remove them, then the plant will have less available energy.
