Cactus

I planted this new growth from the bottom large paddle and it’s turning yellow.

Can anyone help with suggestions or advice on what I should do for my prickly pear? The bottom paddle that’s yellowing with white stuff on it sprouted the two paddles while the cutting was sitting in the shade in a cardboard box. I got this pot and the correct soil and planted. I water about once every two weeks. It’s in direct sunlight now. Should I cut the bottom yellow large paddle and skip watering for the next few weeks? I’m new to this and any helpful info is appreciated

unpot it, remove the two living ones, let them callous over, replant them, and toss that yellow paddle. you cant plant cactus like that, they have a definitive up and down. down, being the cut end. they’ll root again once you cut them, as long as you let them dry out
