Plant Identification

These are falling in my yard from neighbors tree I can’t see. Are they a danger to my pup who chews everything?

The tree is blocked for the most part by the neighbors fence. I’m in Southern California desertish area. I’ve knocked on their door once to no answer even though they were clearly home. I have a pup who stays indoors 99% of the time but when she goes out to do her business she picks these up and chews them. I of course stop her but I’m worried she’ll eventually get one and I won’t notice.

Those are seeds. I think it´s a better idea post a picture of the tree.

I can’t recognize it off the top of my head. It looks like it’s in the pea family but I’d need to see the leaves or flowers up close to confirm. Try to start there. The pea family has many common traits but the main ones are compoumd leaves and a “keel” petal on the flowers. So try to go on Google and find trees in that family. I don’t think it’s a locust or mimosa so you can cross out those off the bat.
