Cactus

How can I help the cacti on the right?

I started with 10 cacti that I planted to test my green thumb. 8 have sadly not made it to today. Yeah, I don’t have a green thumb. I did learn a lot in the process though.

These are the only two remaining and the parent isn’t fruiting anymore. The one on the left looks alright to me, but how can I help the one on the right? It’s not as deep of a green color so it makes me think that it’s not absorbing light as well as the other. It also doesn’t have any noticeable spines yet. Any advice/suggestions on how to help it?

2/10 is a pretty good yield. i sowed 100 saguaro seeds and only 27 germinated. you gotta keep in mind for everyone 1000 seeds a cactus produces only 1 of those is likely to make it to maturity. you need to keep seedlings very humid for the first few months then acclimate them to open air

My ferocactus seeds/seedlings have lived in a plastic container with the lid on but not sealed and are doing very well. they’re about 6 months old and in another 6 I will probably try transitioning out of the humid stage & transplant to individual pots. although my soil mix is much grittier to prevent rot. people tend to steer clear of peat even when germinating seeds.

Look up takeaway tek, they should still be in a sealed higher humidity environment.
