This is my Ginko Autumn Gold! Please ignore the gray paint on the trunk; that is tree trunk paint. That’s why the contrast looks so strong. I used that to protect the tree from sunscald 1.5 years ago. These splits/cracks have only been growing in size for last 2 years but I noticed that there is new growth beneath them. Seems like it’s just going to do that naturally until the new layer beneath grows and the outer layer peels off. I’m thinking this is natural. Am I right or is something wrong with it?
