Plant Propagation

Am I killing these guys?

I’ve propagated Pothos with success in these little bottles before, but I feel like these three are blackening with the same care. 🙁 I thought they were also Pothos, but I now worry that I may have killed off three trimmings from my own ignorance.

Are they just adjusting or should they go in soil?

Buy some liquid fertilizer if you’re gonna keep them there indefinitely, water doesn’t have enough for them to survive long term but just give them a few days, the surviving ones will adapt

I think that I would probably have done the same thing except that I would have checked for Nodes.I see a node on the cutting to the far right, but I can’t see nodes on the other 2.It may just be that they have nodes and I can’t see them because of the camera angle.

I never really like to have “all of my eggs in one basket ” so if you are not sure you can place one or 2 in soil and give the others more time in the water. I usually would give them more time in the water though.

They are not doing bad, this particular pothos takes a bit longer than other pothos to root. My props take about 3-4 weeks at the least on these pearls and jade. They do put off a rooting hormone naturally into the water they are in so if you are changing the water-don’t. Just top the water off daily or as needed and maybe take them a bit farther from light as they do not require or like direct sun. Hope this helps! ♥️
