Cactus

New to this sub and I’d like advice.

I have a cactus that I inherited from my grandmother back in 2013. It was on her kitchen windowsill my whole life. My mom thinks she got it in AZ or NM during a family road trip when my mom was 10 or 11. Mom is 74 now. It's in a freaking glass butter jar with no drainage and I'm terrified of killing it. As far as I know my grandma never did anything with it except water it occasionally, and that's what I've done. But it really needs to be repotted. I'm just afraid of shocking it and I'm wondering if anyone here has ever successfully transplanted a cactus this old without killing it. Please advise!

Honestly I’d probably just shatter the glass it’s in to not disrupt the roots at all. And then loosen up the roots a bit and just plop the whole stump into the larger pot with some good cactus soil.
