This has been happening slowly over the last few months. Started near the bottom growth and worked its way up. We're in Arizona where it's been 100+, and this tree has been planted since December rof last year. I believe this is an Arizona Ash, but I am not sure because I didn't plant it. It has gotten plenty of water. Lots of other trees in the neighborhood seem to have a similar issue.

Started from the bottom now your tree is being cooked alive by pebbles.
If it’s planted like the other behind it the root flare is buried therefore not getting enough air.
