Monstera leaves curling inward when exposed to sunlight. Why?

This is an east facing window so this usually happens during morning to afternoon. When it’s nearing sunset, the leaves revert back to their original form.

My understanding is that the leaves change their positioning depending upon how much light they’re getting. The variation thru the day seems normal. If they remained curled or pointing downward all day, then I’d say too much light.
