help with making this guy not die (reda body text)


so i just gor this nep as a gift and i need some help with keeping it alive so you can give me general tips too other than my questions

1 how often should i water it and how much should i give it?

2 should i spray its leaves? ik that some plants like it so mabye this one does too

3 should i cut any dead traps/leaves? it has one or two half dead traps so idk if i should just cut them or leave them

i would altso like just any other info about how to take care of it as ive never had a nep before

i altso need an id since this one ony said "nepenthes" and no spesific type

  1. Water the media from the top, drenching it until the excess pours out the bottom. When the media begins to dry, stick your finger 1-2 inches into the substrate, if it’s dry in there water it. Water it only with distilled/reverse osmosis water, or it will die slowly. It will decline so slowly you wont even know what killed it.

    Dont spray the leaves, it does nothing except invite infection and possible burns via magnifying light on the leaves. Dont worry about humidity at all unless you see that it is consistently putting out deformed pitchers, light is more important than humidity.

    Trim as you see fit, it’s up to preference. Some people wait for the pitcher to die completely, some people cut them when they start turning brown.

    Looks like Nepenthes Saint Gaya, could be wrong though. I dont know if you have other carnivorous plants, but just as all the others, do not fertilize the media and use only nutrient-less potting media. Good luck!
