Trees will envelop things around them. There are some stellar photos out there of trees doing just this.

That oak is in distress. Sadly, It will likely die in the next couple years

From the photos on line, it appears that the bicycle tree was two trees that the bicycle was placed between and the larger tree grew around the bike and the smaller trunk
