Fiddle Leaf Fig

What do I do?

I think I need to chop.

But where do I chop? I believe where I cut it’ll branch, but I can’t have it TOO top heavy, so can I cut pretty low? Like take off the top two-thirds? It’s fall, is this a bad time? Should I wait until Spring? I have another 4-5 feet of room at the top, so I can wait.

And how do I chop? What tool would be best?

Then how do I prop the cutting? Just water until roots then plant?

I’ve had Gary since he was about 18”. I’m pretty proud of him.

I’d give that a big chop, especially where it starts to get leggy. It definitely needs more light otherwise the new growth will just be leggy again.
I chopped mine with scissors 😂 almost broke them haha! And I chucked the top straight into soil – it’s still alive, hasn’t had any new growth yet though.
My fiddle loved the chopped! Grew a new branch and is loving life again.
