About the spots: they are not soft, powdery, or indented. They feel part of the succulent. Some are on the top of the leaves, others are on the underside.
About the succs: I have these under a grow light with constant air movement while the light is on. The soil is a mixture of sand, calcined clay, soil, and perlite. I believe I have the grow light on for 14-16 hours.
I only water when my succulents display signs of needing water. Which averages about a week and a half. I have a very strong grow light and they dry out fast!
I’ve kept succulents before these, but the mixture was simply miracle grow cactus soil with a good bit more perlite mixed in.
