Fall Front Porch Makeover FAIL πŸ«£πŸ˜†πŸ

Welcome Gardeners! Well, this was not my best work today! πŸ˜† I spent the day redecorating my front porch for fall and I have to be honest, I’m not a fan of how it turned out! I love the pumpkins and corn stalks, the plantings? Needs work! 🫣 Enjoy!

  1. Maybe the trees would look better in front of your office door or another entryway. It’s feeling a little heavy here, needs a more light and airy feel . Still such a beautiful home ❀πŸͺ΄and your videos always make me happy.

  2. Just wanted to complement you on your new video editing skills, I appreciate how you are editing the music beat/cuts to go with the video, I know that takes much time and effort so I wanted to acknowledge. Not sure if you are doing that Janey or perhaps Jason is helping you? Good job!!!! Very entertaining!!!! β€οΈπŸ‘πŸ₯°Liz in California

  3. Hi Janey 🌺. You decorated the porch beautifully and the colors look beautiful and you can tile the stairs with the porch it will be amazing . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺

  4. Hi Janey, could you put saucers under the pots next time so when they drain they don’t ruin the concrete?

  5. Just move the plants by the front door forward into the light, and the windows around the door will seem less crowded, plus you will see what decor hardscapes you can introduce (so much fun!) For instance, you may be able to put in a year-round water feature for the soothing sound of water.

  6. When I buy anything in a small package (like the 6 pack of pansies) that's dry, they always come apart like that. So frustrating! Love your videos! ❀

  7. Janey, I bet your gorgeous maples would really thrive if you planted them in your yard. They could reach their full potential with more sunlight and space to fill out, and their glorious colors would be so joyful and spectacular!
You might like a little bit of contrast by adding some brighter orange pumpkins. The cornstalks are so pretty and fallish. I adore the color of your front door.

  8. Recessed porches traps so much debris! Have you considered enclosing the porch and turning that area into a foyer? I love the green man, he will add a little mystery and suspense before entering the shade garden.

  9. I’ve had those planting days too Janey! You are just hot and so over it! Go inside and have a nice cold drink! You are doing great! Those plants should have tried harder! 😊

  10. Think those maples need to go in the landscape. Maybe closer to the chicken coop since that’s where your shade is. Some topiaries would look so much better in their spot because the scale is way off

  11. Janey
I think you are almost there with your fall porch! I know you were thinking of underplanting the maples with colors that will take you into winter but you might want to consider changing them out for orange, yellow, and rust mums for fall. Especially since you’re concerned with the health of the ones you planted! The β€˜wild personality’ maple looks great after you pruned! Happy Fall !πŸ‚

  12. Put two 4×4. Posts in concrete directly in front of your current fence use cedar boards cross them stain same as your fence and hang it up. Something that heavy is never a good idea directly on a fence unless it’s brick or concrete

  13. I hope you don’t get offended by my comment, but I really think the β€œgreen man” throws off the symmetry and balance of your front porch. The scale is too big and it just looks odd there. I would just take him over to the place you want to eventually hang it, but just lean it against the fence. It will tie in with your rust arbor. And I think it will allow your front porch to breathe. Otherwise it’s great. And they make paint specifically for painting porches if you want to freshen that up.

  14. The corn stalks might block light into your house. Maybe they can go on the left wall? This way there would be a balance with the green man. Maybe?

  15. Georgia Peach heuchera is one of my faves. Beautiful peachy salmon leaves in the spring and then turns darker reddish in the fall. Does great here in SC.

  16. Your Begonias in the pot front door were amazing beautiful, So sad you took them all out, now looks empty, that corn dried does not looks good, with Begonias, you could decorate around pot with lightning and pumpkins, ❀what we see on the video, you don't see, that is why we are here to guide you❀ create your own beautiful design not someone else❀
I wish I could get to your garbage right away and rescue Begonias and use them for myself❀ still alive, take them out, plant it some where❀

  17. Janey – sadly I agree w you. Trees would probably be happier and prettier in the ground somewhere maybe. Something w more interest?
And too many little pots… very busy. Possibly orange pumpkins for a pop of color?
I love everything you usually do. We all have a β€˜whoops’ now and then. πŸ™ˆπŸπŸŒ»πŸ§‘
