Plants

I’m just a girl…

Alright y’all, I desperately need some help here. I came to own a bunch a new plants and I am not a plant person. Everything I touch dies!!! Please help me with identification of my new plant fam and any and all helpful advice regarding care tips! I currently live in an apartment in southeastern U.S. with a nice balcony that faces North! I’d love to utilize the outdoor space for any of these that can withstand temps! If not, they may not have much access to sun due to having cats. Thanks so much 🙃🌱

These plant apps have been so unhelpful, most suck at identification, require sign up, don’t provide care tips, or you’re paying for your life with ads! What I have been able to gather (please correct if wrong because I have zero faith in reliability) is that I may have a mini monstera, leopard plant, Chinese money plants, Wandering Jew, golden pothos, and white condor kale. I have no idea what those two tiny ones are- a lady said that the black potted on shoots up into white and pink flowers I believe.

I do have a window ledge indoors right above my balcony door for the ones requiring that!

Oops didn’t know there was controversy over “Wandering Jew” I’m learning it’s now referred to as a Wandering dude or inch plant.

    1. Looks like a pothos, I have mine under a grow light right now but I know these guys are more tolerant of lower light levels. Watering I cannot say too much about since mine are props at this stage so I’d dig into this one yourself.

    3. Is a leopard lily, I leave mine in my sunroom which has bright indirect light. As far as watering I’d say I water mine when the soil is about 50% dry or drier even.

    4. Is a tradescantia (aka spiderwort/wandering dude/Jew). I leave mine with fairly direct light and water when I notice the leave droop – this one has been fairly nice about me forgetting about it, but that’s just my experience. Mine also likes quite a bit of water but it depends on where it’s placed.

    5. Is a Chinese money plant (pilea) – I don’t not know much about their care so you’ll have to look this one up but they’re very cool!!

The rest I’m not sure on so I won’t say anything. I hope this helps! Having plants is very much an experimental journey and over time you’ll pick it up! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!
