I'm propagating a heap of cuttings and this is the first one I've actually gotten roots on roots with (it's seriously tiny, you might spot it in the picture of you squint but the surface tension of the water is sticking it to the main root)
But this new leaf never unfurled after coming out a few weeks ago, and is going black now. What should I do, should I cut the leaf off and hope another one grows from the stem? Leave it?

You could cut off the black part or just leave it be. It’s not super uncommon that the newest leaf dies when you propagate.
