My Calathea is a monster :/

Got this plant from a family member a few months ago in rough shape and was able to revive her. However she has been growing weird and deformed ever since. Her new leaves look like lettuce, and it looks like the stems are growing downwards if that makes sense? I would appreciate any advice!

I’ve only had success with mine since moving it into the bathroom. Fortunately, I have 3 windows in there, so it still gets plenty of light. So maybe try to increase it’s humidity….

It’s Likely growing that way to optimize the annoying of sunlight it can catch. Think of the leaves like rotatable solar panels. I see you have light in your room in the pic but try moving the plant to a spot where it gets indirect light more consistently. Rotate every week when watering

Mine thrives hanging. Maybe take it off the stick and let it grow freely , it won’t hurt anything
