I hope fungus gnats is the right English word, its not my mother tongue. My Chili is infested. I will order some nemathodes to treat the soil of the plant. The first time was not enough.
But what confuses me is that the fungus gnats seem to attack the leaves of the plant too (picture 2). I thought it was just the larvae in the soil. How do I get rid of the gnats in the leaves?

You can try mixing 1/4 cup of 3% peroxide, add a cup of water and mix it. Then you just pour it on the soil and it should kill and get rid of the gnats for you
Thrips on the leaves, not fungus gnats.
They are annoying but they don’t do your plant any harm. They lay eggs on the top of the soil. Nematodes work really well if you need to get rid. But from what you say the bugs you see are attacking the leaves. Hard to judge from photo but could they be black flies which are sap sucking?
Peroxide you get in a pharmacy over the counter, it may be called something else in your country, the gnats are from keeping the soil too damp, you can put little pebbles on top of the soil to keep them from laying eggs after you solve the problem. If you can find neem oil it’s great for getting rid of bugs and it’s not toxic.
