    I wonder why bees don't like it.

  2. I have grown this in Auckland for years and have never needed to pollinate the flowers to get fruit. Maybe they self-pollinate – I've never noticed any bees etc showing any interest. However, in the hottest weather in mid-summer the flowers often do not set. At the moment (October) I am getting excellent setting, and expect to get another flush of fruit in autumn (fall).

  3. So these red banana passionfruit must be different from the banana passionfruit I ate as a kid, it was not that nice.
    Also when I googled banana passionfruit there's a warning from the National Pest Plant Accord that it's banned from sale, propagation and distribution in NZ. Seriously?
