Backyard Garden

Stroll through a Florida Landscape designers backyard. Plant names and more of tough tropicals

Stroll through my garden with me to see some of Florida’s tropical plants/trees that last and look great In all seasons. I’m a landscape designer in Vero Beach FL. Sharing some of my absolute favorites plants and trees I use daily in my designs. I’ll explain a little about their temperaments and what areas of the garden they can be used in. If you live along with the Space or Treasure coast then this may be a helpful video for you. Hope it inspires the rest of the plant addicts like me to get out in their garden and plant. If you would like more help with having me come out. My husband and I own Construction Landscape co. In Vero Beach Fl. Reach out to us by 772-492-8382 or check out the how it works page for more info. https://constructionlandscapeinc.com/how-it-works/ Thank you and hope you enjoy the tour!

  1. You would have tons of business here in THE VILLAGES… love ur back yard. Thx for inspiration. I just moved & have a small backyard that’s a blank slate. Wish me luck…

  2. Love love love your garden! Wish you came down to Miami to do my 1/2 acre lot. So hard to find this quality of landscaping down here. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Learning plants for NE Florida, thanks for your post. And thanks for using what I gather are the common plant names and written titles along with your narrative. While perhaps impressive, many video hosts too frequently use unrecognizable scientific names for plants and trees and it's difficult to follow. You have an incredible yard!

  4. First, ignore the negative nellies with comments!!!! I loved your vlog and it had so much information that you generously provided! I’m curious about why the waterfall area takes extra maintenance. I also am interested to know if a cutting garden (small) could work in FL zone 9 (West of Tampa). I can’t find info. Thanks!🤗😍😍

  5. Thank you for a beautiful tour. Loved going through your garden with you. You have so much knowledge and I appreciate all the information.

  6. I live in Palm Harbor FL and just put in a circle drive and Pinellas County is requiring that we plant 2 shade trees and 1 accent. Our front yard is really small and I am going through the lists that they give and have been researching these lists, and these trees are huge, and drop leaves. I am leaning toward Magnolia/Sweet Bay Magnolia….if you have any suggestions and feel comfortable letting me know what you think. Thanks

  7. OMG!!! Soooo inspired by your garden! That's like my dream landscape, so I'm definitely gonna keep working towards that lush tropical look. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Love your videos. Very helpful. Gorgeous back yard! I live in Northwest Florida. Learning about Florida landscaping and tropicals. Wanting to get away from plantings with woody root systems. Have removed some and still have some. I have transformed the large planting area at my front porch to all tropical plants. I absolutely love how it is turning out. Do Copper Leaf plants have woody root systems? Thanks!

  9. Thank goodness for your video. My brother lives in the Tampa Bay Area and while he’s been here for 20 yrs his front and back yards are basically blank slates. I have been researching for the last several weeks and yours is the first video that has given me that I was looking for. Thank you for providing the visual and practical information needed to make a start.
