  1. Leon-Can I do this: I have the brown plastic 7gal trash cans-and some leftover cotton fabric along with the leftover 4 or 6 inch wide plastic containers the plants come in from the store. Can I turn the leftover small plastic containers upside down in the bottom of the trash can, layer the cotton fabric over the containers, drop in a pvc pipe to water and a hole in the side of the trash can to vent then put a layer of 3in landscape rocks and sand over the fabric, then the soil and plant my tomoatoe plants? Will that still work and not over water?

  2. Any1 what is the purpose of weed block fabric, is it to keep the plant roots away from something, because it's only separating dirt from bucket and tin cans in bottom

  3. Such an energetic and motivated man. I am giving his system a try this year.

  4. Not to sound ignorant but he refers to "soil" a lot so there's a difference between actual soil and potting mix. Which one is he referring about for wicking?

  5. How about instead of the pipes or cans you just throw big chunks of bark in there. Like pieces that fall off firewood.

  6. I get the 5" hole on the outside…how tall are the cans that you're putting the the tub? IS THE HOLE IN THE TOP PART OF THE CAT HIGHER/LOWER or EVEN TO THE HOLE ON THE OUTSIDE?????

  7. Tried this this year, my marigolds are amazing. I'm going to make more next year. I used bottles we emptied that had tea in them. It works just as well.

  8. Would White plastic work? It still lets light in. But not the UV RAYS that makes the houses so hot in the Summer months. I used it when i was doing cuttings.. Great Video!

  9. This has finally come to America. This type of gardening using plastics styrofoam etc has been ongoing in Vietnam and other Asian countries for at least 4 decades. This man may have been exposed to this in military service overseas. I’m glad the Americans are doing this now.
