COTTAGE GARDEN DESIGN IDEAS // June Garden Tour // Cottage Garden Flowers // Bricks 'n Blooms

Wait until you see how my new cottage garden is coming along! This bed used to be covered with liriope that we completely removed in late winter. I’ve been busy planting it up with colorful cottage garden flowers that will bloom spring through fall and added some of my favorite cut flower garden varieties that I will list below. Come tour my Zone 6a New Jersey cottage garden sitting along a driveway. Today, I’m sharing the different flowers blooming, some newbies that I recently planted, an update on the seed starts, and some design tips to keep the garden continually blooming and changing throughout the growing season. Right now, my favorite flowers in bloom are peonies and roses. There are SO MANY beautiful blooms to see and I can’t wait to watch this new bed grow, bloom and change. So grab a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever you want, and come join me in the garden!

Some seed starts in this garden include:
Snapdragon ‘Costa Apricot’
Snapdragon ‘Madame Butterfly Bronze and White’
Snapdragon ‘Madame Butterfly Pink’
Snapdragon ‘Orleans Early Lemon Yellow’
Zinnia ‘Benary’s Giant Wine’
Zinnia ‘Benary’s Giant Salmon Rose’
Zinnia ‘Oklahoma White’
Larkspur “QIS Dark blue’

  1. This is so beautiful the beds. I have a thing about having one thing going out while another is coming in also I can't read the tags with out reads either but I love playing around with my flowers 🌷🌹🌷 🌷🌹

  2. I’m happy to watch another update of your beautiful garden. It’s amazing to see the changes in your plants over time. I love watching my garden grow a little each day, that is my favorite part of gardening. It’s so fun to have the growth documented over the season to look back at and see your progress. I love that about being a garden YouTuber. Let’s learn & grow more together!

  3. Looks great Stacey! Lots of great perennials! I really like the green color fence as the backdrop

  4. Your garden is so beautiful; I can't wait until it is in full bloom. I live in Northeast Tennessee so we are a little ahead of you. Many of our flowers are blooming already. The only way we have a nice garden is by planting it behind a fence; otherwise, the deer get it all. We had some beautiful hydrangeas in our front yard that we had to move to the back because the deer almost destroyed them. I put them in pots on the back porch for a year to see if we could revive them and they did come back, so we created a little garden in the backyard and planted them and after a year, they are doing really well. I am so glad; we always try to save plants if we can. Had a mama rabbit build a nest right in the middle of our potatoes in our veggie garden and she (and we assume her babies) have devoured the potatoes and the carrots. We had a baby rabbit on our back deck yesterday and we were so worried as she looked lost. All of a sudden, she scampered away down the deck and around the side of the house to the front, so I guess she found her way out. I love the critters, too, but man, they can do some damage. Anyway, thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens with us. I love to garden, too, but I'm getting older and sometimes it takes a huge toll on my body. Still, I do the best I can and my husband does a lot of the work. I LOVE GARDENING. Oh, and yes, I adore Kim from Shiplap and Shells.

  6. Yeah this is a gene from Pennsylvania I have 30 gardens at memorial Park in New Kensington I've been working on it for 18 years but I have always used egg yolk and water like three egg yolks to a large container of water and spray the hostas now couple years ago something else was eating it so I decided last year to spray it with well I just took a container and did eggshells with the eggs and then just assume in a bucket and then did hot sauce and garlic and I'll tell you this year I haven't even had to spray nothing I have a lot of hostas out there and everything else 30 gardens just beautiful
