I like design #2 the best!!
I love #2! I think itβs simple and I can imagine it being relaxing to sit out there and take in the landscape. Would you do something similar if the house was a corner lot and the slope was on the side?

Loved #3, and most of all glad someone decided to finally take on a large slop going away from the house. Tired of seeing the easy reverse way folks dig into the hill, because hills go both ways.
Question of the day: Who the hell is carrying their lawnmower up and down those stone steps every week?
It is one thing to make something look awesome its another to make it practical.
But hey by the time its a problem its not YOUR problem.

I like #2 the best. I was considering the stairs option for my backyard, which is literally a mountainside.
I like 2 or 3 because it provides more space for enjoyment! However, I do appreciate the other comment about moving the lawn mower up and down the stairs. I sure hope that the home owner has an easy way to mow down below!
I love them all but really happy to learn about the juniper and hedging to help with erosion. I always learn something from watching your videos. It's kind of you to share your knowledge, I'm grateful. You've stopped me from making so many mistakes and thought me how to look at different areas in my sloping garden. Thank you from London π¬π§

FYI for a homeowner on a hillside. If you are going to put grass at the bottom, you need a way to get the lawn mower down there. A "hidden" sloped path near the fence would help.

I like #2. I have a slope problem in my backyard. It's a 20" slope away from the house, but to save $$$, we're having a pool installed down on the flat part rather than building out our patio and raising the pool. The pool will be slightly elevated so rain doesn't wash yard debris straight into it. We like the look of pools with pavers in a geographic pattern and lots of grass rather than concrete. I do really love the stone stairs you showed, but would that be too rustic beside our modern, rectanglar pool, and pavers? My style is eclectic, colorful, Boho, cheerful.
